The rotating spherical tap is formed by a body comprising a sphere located in a chamber between first and second body orifices. The sphere is drilled and able to be rotated by an operating part accessible from outside the body. The operating part comprises a cylindrical operating spindle (4) which is axially and radially fixed but free to rotate in a cylindrical operating orifice (12) extending between the outside and the chamber. The operating orifice has a support zone of diameter C'1 and a disengagement zone (16) of diameter C'2. The operating spindle comprises a groove having a positioning zone (13) and a holding zone (15) so that an elastic ring (8) located in the holding zone is engaged in the disengagement zone to ensure the axial holding of the spindle preventing its withdrawal from the operating orifice from the outside.
