PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optimum conditions for induction and growth of a callus, morphological criteria for separating a functionally homogeneous callus and an efficient system for regeneration of a plant body of Zoysia japonica Steud. ;SOLUTION: This method for producing Zoysia japonica, Steud. comprises (i) a step for separating a callus cell cultured from mature seed by using a callus-inducing culture medium containing 0.8-2.5 mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, 0.15-0.25 mg/L 6-benzylaminopurine, 13.5-4.5 mg thiamine-HC and 80-120 mg/L α-ketoglutaric acid and (ii) a step for producing Zoysia japonica, Steud plant body from the cultured callus cell by using a growth medium containing 0.4-0.6 mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, 0.015-0.025 mg/L 6- benzylaminopurine, 13.5-4.5 mg/L thiamine-HC and 80-120 mg/L α-ketoglutaric acid.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
