PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image transfer device, a hospital system, and a method for transferring a medical image capable of establishing a radiology department system including a modality not adapted to a DICOM, and accurately providing patient information or the like reserved and received by an HIS and RIS to an operator. PSOLUTION: This medical image transfer device 3 provided between a patient reception terminal 2 such as the HIS and RIS, and the modality 4 not adapted to the DICOM, includes a modality work list function 9 for importing the patient information from the patient reception terminal, an OCR function 10 for reading image data from a video collected image acquired by the modality not adapted to the DICOM and extracting the patient information, a means 11 for comparing the patient information, a means 13 for warning the operator of the modality when the patient information does not correspond, a means 14 for generating data adding the patient information to the image data, and a means 12 for monitoring elapsed time from when the patient information is imported to when the image data is read.
