"Process for corrosion protection of steel reinforcement in reinforced concrete and reinforced concrete having improved corrosion resistance.The invention provides a reinforced concrete with resistance to corrosion, where the content of spaces in the concrete on the surface of reinforcing steel is below 0.8%, preferably below 0.5%.More preferably less than 0.2% by area of steel and in which there is a layer of solid alkali, preferably of at least one micron thickness on the surface of the steel.The reinforced concrete preferably has a threshold level of chlorine of at least 0,5% preferably at least 0.8% by weight of cement.The invention also provides a procedure to reduce the corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete.That includes the formation of a reinforced concrete in which the spaces on the surface of the steel is less than 0.5% by volume, and where there is a layer of solid alkali in the surface of the steel.The layer having at least one micron in thickness and coating at least 20% of the surface of the steel.
