METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR MONITORING THE OPERATING PARAMETERS AND OPTIMIZING THE OPERATION OF HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANTS

The invention relates to a method and an installation for monitoring the parameters responsible for the proper operation of a hydroelectric power plant, both at the power plant level and at the waterfall level, and for optimizing the operation of said hydroelectric power plant. According to the invention, the method consists in acquiring data regarding the upstream level and the downstream level, the real power, the processed stream flow, the opening of the surveying apparatus, the inclination angle of the rotor blades and information relating to the ends of stroke of the system driving the inclination of the rotor blades, in order to avoid forcing the same at the ends of stroke. The optimization process is an iterative process by calculating at pre-established periods of time the operating efficiency of each group which is further compared with the preceding value and commands are given to the driving block which modifies the inclination angle of the rotor blades so that the hydro-power unit runs permanently at the maximal efficiency level corresponding to the combination: power - level in a certain moment. The claimed installation comprises a block for monitoring and optimizing the data of each plant (A) using a data acquisition and control unit (1) and a block (B) for summarizing the data of several power plants. The data acquisition and control unit (1) takes over the required data from several transducers (4...8) using a serial interface (2) and commands an actuating system (11).
