Interface apparatus 11 for use by a patient having an airway and for use with a mechanical ventilator 16 having inspiratory tubing 78 and expiratory tubing 88. An intrapulmonary percussive ventilator 21 having an output 126 and an injection device 56 coupled to the output of the percussive ventilator and having an output 144. The interface apparatus comprises a mixing device 59 having a mixing chamber 63 therein and having an outlet 68 adapted to be connected to the patient airway. The body has fittings 76, 96 in communication with the mixing chamber adapted to be connected to the inspiratory tubing and to the expiratory tubing of the mechanical ventilator. The body also has an injection port in communication with the mixing chamber adapted to be connected to the output of the injection device.
