PURPOSE: A method for preparing Trapa japonica Flerow starch and Sagittaria trifolia var. Edulis starch and the starch prepared by the method are provided, to use valueless Trapa japonica Flerow and Sagittaria trifolia var. Edulis to produce starch which can be used as the food. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of washing Trapa japonica Flerow and Sagittaria trifolia var. Edulis; pulverizing the washed Trapa japonica Flerow and Sagittaria trifolia var. Edulis with flowing the cooling water; separating the liquid starch and other impurities from the pulverized one using a common dual dehydrator to obtain the liquid starch; centrifuging the obtained liquid starch to obtain starch particle; stirring the obtained starch particle with the cooling water and filtering the stirred one with a net of 180-250 mesh; and precipitating the filtered starch for 20-30 min to remove water. Preferably the precipitated wet starch is pre-dried with natural wind for 1-2 hours, and dried with hot wind of 30-40 deg.C for 35-48 hours to obtain the dry starch.
