A switching arrangement has a four terminal coupling device comprising a plug component (St), for connection of a measurement device with a transducer that outputs an electrical signal and an evaluation circuit that outputs a digital signal with either low or high level and a socket component (B) for power supply and connection of a load (L, L'). The four sockets are connected to power input, switch neutral, and the third and fourth are also connected to the power input when there is a high level digital output. The switching arrangement works as either as a shutting or closing device.
