An outboard motor is designed as a boat drive with power supply via a flexible cable from a power source installed in the boat (1). A lift /hoist (7) is mounted on the boat for approximately vertical lowering of the motor (5) below the level of the boat's keel (12) and lifting of the motor (5) above the level of the keel (12).
