This invention provides a pest repellent of the type which may be applied either directly to the skin or to another location, such as a building or plant, from which the pests are to be repelled. The repellent contains hyssop oil as an active ingredient, and is especially useful against bloodsucking insects such as mosquitoes and flies. The invention also provides pest repelling methods using hyssop or hyssop oil.
