PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an astronomical image pickup device, an astronomical image pickup method, and an astronomical image pickup system which photograph only light beams of stars in a starry sky by removing lighting (noise light) of buildings or noise light of moving objects like airplanes.;SOLUTION: The starry sky is photographed by a digital camera, and image data obtained by this photographing is outputted from the digital camera to a PC, and image data inputted to the PC is processed on the basis of an image editing processing program. In steps 110, 114, 120, and 122, it is detected whether optical images in image data are star images or light of things other than stars like lighting of buildings or lighting of airplanes, and light of things other than stars is removed from image data to obtain a background image. That is, a beautiful image of the starry sky is obtained even in a city with much noise light by a simple constitution because only star images are made to remain in image data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
