PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restore order of the respective pieces of performance information even after decoding, to prevent generation of events such that the decoded performance information is noncoincident with the original performance information and to reduce the size of primary codes by omitting record of a part of the performance information, etc.;SOLUTION: The performance information compression device or the like is provided with: a primary code generation part 2 that separate SMF (standard MIDI file), etc. at least into information about relative time among events, information about pitch at the start of sound production, information about sound intensity, information about pitch at the end of the sound production and other information by every channel, integrate the respective pieces of information irrespective of channels and generates the primary codes in which the respective integrated pieces of information in respectively independent areas; and a secondary code generation part 3 that compresses pieces of information about the respective areas of the primary codes generated by the primary code generation part 2 by decoding methods in an LZ encoding method and a Huffman encoding method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
