ANALYSIS OF WORKS OF ART BY MEANS OF FLUORESCENCE LIFETIME IMAGING

The method for the analysis of a work of art by means of fluorescence lifetime imaging to distinguish and to determine the quantity of organic substances present on said object comprises the phases of: generating a laser light (10); sending said laser light towards a zone of said object (14); acquiring at least two images, with a preset acquisition window, of the fluorescence emitted by said zone of said object as consequence of sending said laser light, respectively after a first preset time and after a second preset time starting from sending of said laser light; said at least two images are composed of a plurality of elementary portions; determining for each of said elementary portion the amplitude and the decay time of the fluorescence emitted.
