The object of the invention is the making of a vertlcal gastric reservoir in the surgical treatment of morbid obesity.;It comprises a clamp consisting of two plates articulated on their lower end, with an automatic closure system on the top, reinforced with a sealing system. Both plates have two wide parts (one on each end of the instrument) on their right edge, Both of the aforementioned wide parts present two orifices which make it possible to fix the instrument to the gastric wall.;The application of the instrument and the technical solution it provides are: to replace the use of metal staples which are eventually shed by 15%-20% of patients, thus leading to failure of the intervention in vertical banded gastroplasty (VBG).;This instrument could also be used occasionally in the manufacture of the small gastric reservoir in gastric by-pass to the lesser curvature to replace metal staples.
