A method for automatic emergency braking of a motor vehicle equipped with an automatic emergency braking system (1), where emergency braking is triggered when a vehicle collision is unavoidable. When emergency braking is triggered, or after a consequent accident or impact, an emergency call is made via a vehicle communication system. Independent claims are also included for various methods for stopping automatic braking when it is detected as being no longer necessary under different circumstances.
