The method involves using ultra-cold atoms and/or molecules and/or gases for detection of electrical and/or magnetic fields (B1,B2), whereby the atoms and/or molecules and/or gases are arranged in the interaction regions of the fields and at least one property of the atoms and/or molecules and/or gases is detected after their interaction with the fields. AN Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for implementing the inventive method.
