The system has a controller with a power switch(es) for controlling an electromechanical unit into the locked state and a central controller (ZSG). The controller is connected to the central control unit via an electrical cable connection independent of the signal connections and the potential of a drive connection of the power switch or a power connection of the controller can be controlled from the central controller via the independent connection. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method of securing an adjustment device in a motor vehicle; (b) and a method of securing a lock system in a motor vehicle.
