Local coil for magnetic resonance applications comprises an annular base body (1) in which a receiving antenna for receiving a magnetic resonance signal is embedded. The base body is designed so that it takes up its own shape in the absence of external forces and is dimensioned so that it can take up its own shape within the roof of the mouth (4) or the nasal cavity (3) of a human being. It is also sufficiently flexible that it can be inserted via a nostril into the nasal cavity.
