PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer ink ribbon having compatibility with a plurality of device models.;SOLUTION: This thermal transfer ink ribbon winding core 1 comprises a paper tube main body 2 having constant inner diameter and outer diameter along the whole axial length, and cut grooves 3a and 3c extended prescribed length at both axial ends, and plastic inserts 4 joined and fixed having an outer diameter almost similar to the inner diameter of the paper tube main body, and a taper part 4d where an inner diameter is gradually enlarged from the inside end toward the outside end. At the outside end of the plastic insert, a protrusion 5 that can be engaged with the cut groove in the paper tube main body, and a cut groove 6 axially extended prescribed length are formed. In this state, it can be installed on a first model of a facsimile machine.
