PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a performance evaluating device for a quadrature modulator and a performance evaluating method for a quadrature modulator capable of performing performance evaluation of a quadrature modulator by using a direct current voltage generation circuit and an arithmetic circuit. ;SOLUTION: This performance evaluating device for a quadrature modulator evaluating the performance of a quadrature modulator 1 is provided with a signal for performance evaluation outputting means 1 which outputs a signal for performance evaluation consisting of several kinds of patterns composed of a direct current voltage having at least +A volt, -A volt, 0 volt and α×A volt to the I signal input terminal and the Q signal input terminal of the quadrature modulator, a carrier signal for performance evaluation outputting means 13, a measuring means 14 measuring an output signal level of the modulator 1, a storing means 16 storing the output signal level of the modulator 1 in each pattern of the signal for performance evaluation, a performance evaluating means which calculates at least an offset error, an amplitude error and a phase error from the output signal level of the modulator 1 stored in the means 16 by an operation and also, a control circuit which controls the entire device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
