The proposed method for identifying pictures of planar figures by the ratios between the areas of the figure elements implies centering the input picture and the following turns of the picture about its center. The method is distinctive by transforming the received picture of the figure presented ina rectangular coordinate system into the picture presented in a polar coordinate system, defining two circles, whose centers coincide with the main point of the figure, so that the first circle is tangent to the nearest point of the figure, and the second circle is tangent to the point that is at a maximal distance from the main point of the figure, dividing each circle into a number of sectors, each of which is limited by the outline of the figure and the circle radius, determining the areas of the sectors by a specified equation, turning the picture through a specified angle, and comparing the sector areas with the areas of the corresponding elements of the reference picture. The picture is turned on until all the areas of the figure coincide with the areas of the elements of the reference picture. The proposed method provides a possibility to increase speed of response and accuracy in identifying pictures.
