The method involves placing a digitized main plan of a building project in a data base, where to each subproject a data record is recorded of the main plan so that the data records to the subprojects can be individually accessed. The data records contain defaults for planning and other data to the subproject. Users are assigned from a subproject, and the main plan is conveyed with a pre-determined data depth as well as the data record to the assigned subproject to that or the users. The data depth of the main plan specifies which data from the data records of the not assigned subprojects are conveyed. Data from the subproject is received from the assigned subproject. The received data is stored in a database where a data record supplemental around the received data is produced for the subproject and recorded in the main plan on the data base.
