The method involves having a network list with two standard cells automatically combined of standard cells out of two standard cells. The standard cells combinations to be identified (11, 12) are stored in a database. The standard cells combination is positioned by means of a place and route program. The identified cells and in the combination record stored standard cells combinations are placed a distance from one another at a given threshold distance.
