PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of an operation for selecting a reacting area on a screen by an input device in an information processing system for using a screen display device and the input device. ;SOLUTION: When a user performs a clicking operation when a mouse cursor 13 is present at the outside of the reacting area 12 of an icon or the like displayed inside the screen 1, the reacting area 12 is magnified and a magnified part 14 is displayed. In this case, when the mouse cursor 13 is moved inside the magnified part 14 and the clicking operation is performed, a processing corresponding to the original reacting area 12 is automatically activated and enlarged display is eliminated. In the case that the user fails to select the reacting area 12 or in the case of idly clicking a mouse intentionally, since the reaction area 12 is automatically magnified and displayed, a selection operation is easily performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
