Compositions for reducing hsp27 for the treatment of prostate and other cancers

A composition comprises oligonucleotide having a sequence complementary to a portion of SEQ ID NO:91 as a therapeutic agent effective to reduce the amount of active hsp27 in hsp 27 expressing cells. The oligonucleotide is an antisense oligonucleotide or a siRNA. The composition can be used in the manufacture of a medicament for the treatment of cancer.
