Internal combustion engine comprises an actuating element fixed by a blocking piston in its first position defining a first valve stroke, and having a second position that defines a shorter second valve stroke
Internal combustion engine comprises a variable valve-actuating device for a gas-exchange valve (2) actuated by a cam (3) and a tappet (4). The cam acts on the gas-exchange valve via an actuating element (5) that pivots between at least two positions perpendicular to the camshaft axis. The actuating element is fixed by a blocking piston (7) in its first position defining a first valve stroke. A second valve stroke defined by a second position of the actuating element is shorter than the first valve stroke. Independent claims are also included for: (1) Alternative internal combustion engines; and (2) Process for operating an internal combustion engine with preferably electrohydraulic fully variable valve drive.
