The region has a bumper cover (12) that is provided on a front side of a trim panel. An absorber unit is assigned on a rear side of the bumper cover for supporting the bumper cover, where the absorber unit is provided on a lower region of the bumper cover. The cover consists of an upper cover section (12a) and a lower cover section, where both the sections extend in crosswise and horizontal manner over entire width of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a bumper cover for a front end region of a trim panel of a motor vehicle.
