The circuit has an accumulator connected with an application of an electronic device and a charger. An operation load current detecting unit (BSEE) is connected with the application, and a charger current controlling unit (LGSRE) is connected with the unit (BSEE) and charger. The unit (LGSRE) is controllable by the unit (BSEE), and the unit (BSEE) has a limiting value, which is a maximum charging current permissible for the accumulator. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a charger current.
