The perforated plate (20) for a submerged granulator, for the granulation of hot molten plastics in a water-filled chamber, has a number of jet openings (8) around the center of the plate for the molten plastics to flow through. An insulated chamber (11) is at the outflow side of the plate, closed by a cover (4) which is bonded to the perforated plate at its periphery (12) by welding or an adhesive. The pressure within the chamber is below atmospheric pressure. A ring cover (6) defines a ring insulation chamber (13), outside the center of the perforated plats and the jet openings. Wear-resistant inserts (7,10) of a hard metal in the perforated plate form the jet opening outflows and are also in zones near the openings.
