PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment sensitized solar battery with a high photoelectric conversion ratio without conducting heat treatment and capable of selecting many kinds of transparent substrates.;SOLUTION: A template compound is mixed to an electrolyte containing a zinc salt under the presence of a desirable substrate, cathode electrodeposition uniformly, compulsorily transporting a material to the surface of the substrate is conducted, a zinc oxide thin film adsorbing the template compound on the inner surface is formed in the substrate, and a porous zinc oxide thin film for the substrate of a pigment sensitized solar battery having a space formed by devising a desorption means of the template compound to the zinc oxide thin film is obtained. A zinc oxide/pigment composite thin film for an optical electrode material formed by adsorbing a pigment in the space of the porous zinc oxide thin film for the substrate of the pigment sensitized solar battery is obtained. The pigment sensitized solar battery is formed by using the zinc oxide/pigment composite thin film as the optical electrode material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
