The invention relates to a method for calculating a measurement of similarity between a representation of a reference audio segment and a representation of an audio segment to be tested, the audio segment to be tested belonging to a class comprising a number of audio segments, the measurement of similarity being obtained from basic measurements of similarity between the reference segment and each of the segments of said class. The method comprises the following steps: determining a weighting factor for each of the segments of said class; attributing the determined weighting factor to the basic measurement of similarity of the corresponding segment, and; obtaining the measurement of similarity from basic measurements of similarity thus weighted. The invention also relates to the use of this method for calculating a measure of similarity in a speaker tracking method. Lastly, the invention relates to devices for carrying out the respective methods.
