METHOD FOR PREVENTING HEARTH ROLLS FOR CONTINUOUS ANNEALING LINE FROM CONTAMINATION

A method of preventing hearth rolls from being contaminated is provided to reduce the amount of alien substances adhered to surface portions of the hearth rolls by controlling tension applied to a strip during continuous annealing is provided. As a method of reducing the amount of alien substances adhered onto surface portions of hearth rolls(2) of a continuous annealing line(1) for a cold rolled strip(3), a method of preventing hearth rolls from being contaminated comprises controlling tension applied to the strip to 0.7 to 1 kg/mm^2 at an on-line speed of 96 meters per minute such that contact between the hearth rolls and the strip is minimized.
