The circuit has a driver circuit supplying driver signals to a gate electrode of an insulated gate bipolar transistor (31). A current transducer (16) measures current flow of the transistor. A mirror voltage of a gate is varied based on measured value of the current flow of the transistor. A constant current switch is provided in a gate circuit of the transistor, and a free wheel diode (32) is provided parallel to the transistor.
