The method involves selecting a personal data in a storing area of a user terminal (T) and an approved synchronization server (S1) of a set of synchronization servers, by the terminal. The terminal is made to apply a data modification method on the selected data even when the selected server is not adapted for implementing another data modification method. The data is transmitted from the terminal to a destination of the selected server for updating a database of the server according to transmitted data. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a terminal comprising a data storing area (2) a computer program installed in a terminal comprising a data storing area (3) a server for synchronizing data with a terminal (4) a computer program installed in a terminal.
