The package has a separation unit constituted of a step (1) placed at a base (3) of the food preparation package and a grid placed on the step. The separation unit separates solid product, semi-liquid product and liquid product. The step forms a projected closed ring at the periphery of the food preparation package, where the width of the step is less than the length of the package. An independent claim is also included for a method of heating non-homogenous food.
