WATER-ABSORBING MATERIAL FOR HALF-DRIED FISH PRODUCTION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HALF-DRIED FISH

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing half-dried fish comprising sanitarily and rapidly performing a half-dry treatment which is one of fish treatments and dehydration in a short time to produce tasty half-dried fish. PSOLUTION: The method for producing half-dried fish comprises the following processes: spreading shirasu (volcanic ash)/salt-containing water-absorbing material where 20-25 w% of salt is mixed with 75-80 w% of porous vitreous shirasu having a grain diameter of 0.5-3.0 mm to have a thickness of 3 cm; placing a fresh fish body from which bowels are eliminated and which is developed into two, to the inside of which a half-transparent film adheres and to the outside of which a nylon nonwoven fabric adheres, on the water-absorbing material so as to make the outer (skin) side of the fish body bottomed; and covering the fish body with water-absorbing material the same as that described above to have a thickness of 3 cm to dehydrate the fish body.
