PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a brown oxide pretreatment agent composition having a cleaning capability and a polyimide surface adhesivity, and to provide a method for improving the polyimide surface adhesivity by using a brown oxide process.;SOLUTION: The brown oxide pretreatment agent composition having a cleaning capability and the polyimide surface adhesivity contains 5-15 g/L amines; a hydroxide, 190-210 g/L; at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a cleaning assistant 3-6 g/L, an antifoaming agent 0.1-5 g/L, and a suspending agent 1-10 g/L; and water as the balancing component. The composition cleans a copper surface in a pretreatment process of the brown oxide treatment process, and also improves adhesivity on the polyimide surface. In the method for improving polyimide surface adhesivity, a separate process for improving interfacial adhesivity between a polyimide and a prepreg is abbreviated, owing to the application of the composition to the pretreatment process of the brown oxide treatment process. As a result, a flexible printed circuit board manufacturing process is simplified to cause a reduction in both of manpower and the product rejection rate in the flexible printed circuit board manufacturing process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
