The method involves producing light by a lighting fixture in light modules (2, 2`) of a vehicle (1). Luminous power of the light emerged through a glass pane section and/or the light reflected from the glass pane section is measured by using a sensor, which is arranged in the area of the glass pane section. A pollution degree of the glass pane section is determined based on the luminous power, and a headlight cleaning system (6) is regulated or controlled based on the determined pollution degree. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining of a pollution degree of a glass pane section.
