The cockpit has a vehicle steering wheel (1) designed such that finger movements on a steering wheel outer surface are recorded, where the surface is accessible to a user. An analysis circuit generates an analyzing signal dependent on the movements and a contacting position of a finger. A slave system e.g. vehicle mirror (5), air nozzle device (4), and telecommunication and/or navigation system, is controlled according to a control signal, which is generated based on the analyzing signal by an input interface. The wheel is used as a touchpad system to realize a drag and drop function.
