The prosthesis (10) has a loop (11) comprising a slot-shaped opening (14) extensively smaller than a diameter of a chain (1), which is encompassed by the loop. The loop is formed in such a manner that it is fitted in a force-fit manner after coupling the prosthesis at the encompassed chain by three regions (15, 15', 15''). The regions lying at the chain and regions (16, 16', 16'') of the loop are rotated in a circumferential direction around the chain. The prosthesis is made of biocompatible plastics such as polytetrafuoroethylene or fiber composite or silicon.
