The device has an intermediate image transmission part (5) with a central region (5B), on which a target image is formed as an object of an image formation. A periphery region (5A) of the transmission part is arranged outside of the central region. An image formation unit is designed to take reference images (15A, 15B), respectively, on the periphery region and the central region before the image formation. Toner adhesion quantity sensors (12A, 12B) measure a physical parameter of the reference images, and a controller corrects the image formation based on the measured physical parameter. An independent claim is also included for a toner adhesion amount correcting method for compensating toner adhesion amount of a toner image.
