The method involves determining streaming air mass in a control device based on an output voltage of a hot-film air mass sensor. Measuring error including the influences of an ambient temperature and other physical parameters in measured result of air mass fed in an internal combustion engine is corrected using a mathematical model, where the model represents the output voltage.
