The assembly has a throat (1) for capturing water of water course to send the water toward a chute (2) through a screen rake (16). The chute has a shrunk section at its outlet for accelerating the water, and the shrunk section opens into a canal (3) in which a hydraulic wheel is arranged. The hydraulic wheel is constituted of an axle (4) and vanes (6), and is activated by circulating water in the canal. A crown wheel recovers rotational energy of the hydraulic wheel. A shell (8) permits to use the assembly under marine, and under air pressure for permitting free passage of the vanes.
