PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved LCOS microdevice that eliminates colored light required generally in a prior art system.;SOLUTION: The LCOS structure uses color filers directly in the LCOS chip. Depending on the number of colors being used, the color filters are arranged repeatedly according to a predefined pattern across an entire LCOS chip to coincide with pixels in the microdevice. When a white light is focused onto the LCOS microdevice, it reflects a color image that is then magnified and projected onto a display screen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
