PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the abnormality cause research of an output signal in a programmable controller.;SOLUTION: When any abnormality is generated in an output signal, the output signal is set as a research output signal. A signal state when any abnormality is generated with respect to each contact of a logical formula for searching for the research output signal is input. The contact and the logical formula which do not give any influence to the change of the output signal to a normal change are erased so that the logical formula can be simplified (S1 to S6). When the element of the contact of the other output signal is included in the simplified logical formula of the research output signal, a logic for searching for the other output signal is also simplified, and this logic is substituted into the corresponding contact of the logical formula of the simplified research output signal (S7 to S10). The simplified logical formula for researching the output signal or a ladder circuit figure are displayed (S11). The logical formula of the output signal as the object of research is set to a contact signal as the object of research of abnormality cause so as to simplify abnormality research based on the display content.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
