TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROLLER AND OUTGOING TRAFFIC FLOW PREDICTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve highly precise outgoing traffic flow prediction by considering the traffic volume of the other traffic crossing the outgoing direction in an autonomous distribution type traffic signal control system.;SOLUTION: In calculating the number of outgoing vehicles in every traveling direction from each incoming route, the number of outgoing vehicles to the traveling direction is corrected according to the traffic volume of the cross traffic of the traveling direction. For example, when traveling from an incoming route C to a right turn direction (the direction of an incoming route B), the number of outgoing vehicles is corrected according to opposing straight line vehicles from an incoming route A as cross traffic. That is, when the total number of vehicles of the number of arrival vehicles of the incoming route A and the number of stay vehicles in the past prescribed time since the prediction object time exceeds the threshold number of vehicles, the number of outgoing vehicles to the right turn direction is corrected to "0".;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
