This is to detect and Measure the Corrosion Of Steel Rods in the crossing point at joints of reinforced concrete Bridges of the type u00f4concrete hingesu00f6 and others, by detecting, in a recording medium, the Radiation of Radioactive Source, such as ir192, through The Neck Joint.To perform this Measurement the source and the recording Medium are placed at both sides of the joint of the neck, below and above both sides of the Bridge Deck using a special device that contains filters and reference Elements.The intensity of gamma Radiation that passes through the thickness of the joint of the concrete and the Steel bars inside gives rise to Images of the Steel bars in the recording Medium. The analysis of these images allows to identify and Measure of Corrosion defects on these bars.This applies mainly to the case of joints (Neck u00f4hjngesu00f6) which has a thickness of about 30 cm, and although the technique of the detection of Corrosion in steel bars in concrete through the use of a low energy source of ir192 is known,It has never been used for the detection of Corrosion Of Steel in concrete as a joint u00f4fingesu00f6 in concrete Bridges used in the United Kingdom and other countries.
