Fruit picking device that fits over thumb and index finger for picking fruit with a stalk that uses the flexing of the index finger to cut the stalk

A fruit picking device is disclosed. The device is secured on the hand for picking fruit, in particular for pressure-sensitive fruit. The connection between the cutting element (1), the hands and fingers enables the picker to fell the surface and stalk (9) of the fruit with the fingers in order to guide the cutting element into the best position for cutting the stalk (9). The cutting element (1) is spoon-shaped in such a way that the severed fruit stalk (9) does not project beyond the surface of the fruit. The cutting element (1) comprises support elements (3) and is fixed to thumb and forefinger finger using suitable fixing means (4). A movement of the forefinger exerts a force on the cutting element, the relive movement of the thumb and forefinger being guided by the pivot points (5). The fruit picking device prevents harvested fruit from being damaged by mutual contact during storage and permits a sufficient length of stalk (9) to be retained on the fruit to prevent it from perishing.
