Procedure and arrangement for assessing the robustness of proposed solutions to restriction problems and for considering the robustness of the development of a restriction problem solution

Establishing the robustness of a proposed solution to a boundary condition problem involves generating operative output data for at least first and second modified versions of the solution having control variable(s) perturbed in respective first and second directions (specifically opposite directions); and reproducing at least part of the generated operation output data. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) corresponding apparatus, with a processor for generating the modified output data and a user interface for reproducing the generated operation output data; (2) configuring a target function (TF), such that the TF contains term(s) considering the robustness; (3) establishing the robustness of a proposed solution, involving configuring a TF containing term(s) considering the robustness; receiving input variable values for the TF; and generating a solution improving factor based on the configured TF and the input variable values; (4) generating a solution to an optimization problem, involving generating the solution; generating a TF value using a configured TF containing term(s) considering the robustness; and estimating the convergence of a solution based on the TF value; and (5) operating a system, using a solution obtained using a TF containing term(s) considering the robustness.
