The method involves defining a measuring section between measuring points (B1-B3) and an exhaust gas origin point (A1), and determining parameters of the measuring section for determining a reaction time of exhaust gas concentration. A reference parameter and the exhaust gas concentration of an exhaust gas component are measured in a dynamic operation, and an inverse filtering of the concentration is executed. The reaction time of the concentration is compensated based on the determined parameters of the measuring section.
